Apply for a Microgrant Today

COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on the lives of many, particularly marginalized communities and the organizations that serve them. But the pandemic has also underscored the power of community organizing and support. That’s why the CSD Unites Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications, along with donations to expand existing funding capacity, for its COVID-19 Resiliency Efforts through March 4th, 2021. Organizations supporting recovery efforts are encouraged to apply for an Emergency Response Grant.

In addition to meeting the critical and immediate needs of deaf and multiply marginalized community members, our goal is to build the strength and resiliency necessary for a more just future. Could a grant help your organization fight inequity and systemic barriers in the face of COVID-19? Read on to learn more about the application process.

Who is Eligible?

  • 501c3 organizations or organizations without 501c3 status who have a confirmed fiscal sponsor
  • Organizations of any size are welcome to apply, but those with a budget of less than $750,000 will be prioritized
  •  The Foundation does not fund individuals, event sponsorships, or capital projects at this time

What Kind of Programs Does the Foundation Support?

An organization’s work can take many forms, and we’re open to your ideas! Here are some key values we seek to support:

Equity: Inclusion of marginalized communities facing injustice or oppression, including but not limited to: communities of color, low-income communities, LGBTQ communities, disabilities communities, immigrant communities, and under-resourced rural communities

Accessibility: Deaf community members have full access to businesses, educational institutions, and events of the organization. The organization seeks to improve by growing a more inclusive community

Capacity-Building: Organizations that seek to grow, change and improve by trying new methods while maintaining their values and community support

Sustainability: Projects that serve immediate needs as well as strengthen communities long- term

Innovative Solutions: new solutions that can have a positive, progressive impact on the community

How Much Money is Awarded?

Microgrant award amounts will vary, as determined by the scope of the projects. The Foundation encourages funding requests in the range of $1,000- $10,000, and reserves the right to fund projects in part or full.

What is the Project Period? Is a Grant Recurring?

The Foundation will make an initial award for up to a one-year project period. Renewal for subsequent years depends on performance and availability of funds.

How Can I Apply?

Apply here! Applications are due by 23:59:59 CST on Thursday, March 4th, 2021. Successful applicants will be notified in April 2021.
