DVAS (Deaf Vermonters Advocacy Services)

Deaf Vermonters Advocacy Services (DVAS) is an agency that was officially established in 2000. We are an advocacy agency culturally and linguistically designed to meet the specific needs of Deaf, Deaf/Blind, and Hard of Hearing individuals and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. DVAS provides direct services, gives support to individuals and survivors, offers training to professionals, educates the Deaf and hearing community, and works on collaborating with local agencies.

Deaf World Aganist Violence Everywhere

DWAVE is a statewide organization providing trauma informed direct advocacy in Ohio since 2000. DWAVE provides advocacy to Deaf DeafBlind DeafDisabled diverse survivors of domestic violence and or sexual assault. DWAVE also provide service to survivor's/co-survivor's children, CODA, community partners and interpreters.

Our mission: To promote the empowerment of and equality for Ohio's diverse Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities by offering culturally affirmative advocacy and education, while inspiring community accountability in response to oppression, relationship and sexual violence.

Nykitas Homeless To Home Christian Faith-Based Project

Our nonprofit, Nykitas Homeless To Home Christian Faith-Based Project, is dedicated to address the issue of homelessness by providing comprehensive support and resources to individuals in need deaf HOH blind and those with other(Dis) abilities.

With the alarming rise and homelessness across our community, our initiative aims to offer a pathway to sustainable housing for those experiencing exploited traumas that led to homelessness.

DeafHope

DeafHope is a culturally specific, Deaf-led community-based organization that provides services to Deaf survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, family violence, and system violence. We provide advocacy, peer counseling, virtual support group, healing spaces, as well as accompaniment to court hearings, hospital visits, interviews with law enforcement, and meetings with Child Protective Services. Our local services are in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our virtual peer counseling, support group, and advocacy services are available to survivors nationwide. We have a deep commitment to developing community-based resources outside of systems that have historically replicated dominance and reinforced harm to marginalized communities such as Deaf, DeafDisabled, DeafBlind, hard of hearing, late deafened, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, language deprived, immigrants, refugees, unhoused individuals, as well as community members who have experienced mental health issues and folks who have experienced challenges with substance use and addiction.

Our Deaf Survivors Center (ODSC)

ODSC, Inc. serves individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence in Deaf communities by providing culturally sustaining resources and services. ODSC, Inc. aims to create a compassionate community that centers individual self-determination of every person who has been or is being affected by domestic and sexual violence.
