Our 2025 Social Impact is Here: The Cliff Notes

After the end of each year, our team appreciates the opportunity to reflect on challenges navigated, goals attained, and new paths to forge in the months ahead. In our latest social impact report, we address the obvious: last year was rough for many people in our deaf communities, including the organizations and programs serving them.
There were still some silver linings to be found as we recalibrated DOF's work to better meet deaf organizations where they were. Here are the cliff notes from this report:
Distributing Funds to Deaf Organizations
We received 84 grant applications and awarded a total of $100,000 in unrestricted grants among four deaf organizations. Each grantee used DOF funding to address their area of greatest need.
Sharing Nonprofit Resources
Our website saw significant improvements: we developed two different databases in response to needs shared by deaf organization leaders, and launched a new blog to communicate important DOF updates and other nonprofit news. Additionally, we provided 100 instances of technical assistance to deaf organizations nationwide.
Providing Accessible Information
When wave after wave of policy changes hit the nonprofit sector, we worked to help ensure deaf organization leaders had the information they needed to navigate the unpredictable landscape. Over 150 organization representatives attended our educational webinars.
Seeding a New Training Institute
Thanks to The Glenn and Martha Wilson Fund, we began laying the groundwork for a free library of training sessions designed for deaf organization leaders. More from this new program is coming, including learning opportunities you won’t want to miss.
