We’re excited to announce the launch of DOF’s Training Institute. Here, you can find upcoming training sessions, a library of recorded videos from nonprofit experts, and toolkits to help you apply information gleaned from our presenters to your organization's specific needs.

Basics of Donor Development
Our first training session, “Basics of Donor Development” presented by Marilyn J. Smith, is happening on May 21st at 1PM CT. In this introductory session, Marilyn will explore why nonprofits need donors, and discuss strategies for cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors. At the end of the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask Marilyn questions.

Marilyn Smith
Marilyn Jean Smith (she/her) is the founder and former executive director of the Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services (ADWAS) in Seattle, Washington and is considered the Mother of the Anti-Violence Movement in Deaf America. She received her B.A. and her M.A. from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. Her work at ADWAS brought many awards, including those from President Clinton, Gallaudet University, and the National Association of the Deaf, and Deaf Women United. She received an honorary Doctor of Laws from Gallaudet University in 2004.
