Knoxville Center of the Deaf (KCD) was established in December 1977 with a drive to provide communication access for all Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and DeafDisabled individuals.
In 2023, KCD provides a wide array of services that empower the community by unlocking barriers through awareness, accessibility, and inclusion. KCD embraces and respects the diversity within the diverse communities in the following counties: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Fentress, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Pickett, Roane, Scott, and Sevier.
Communities include Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, Deaf-Disabled, Children of Deaf Adults, Kids of Deaf Adults, Deaf education professionals, sign language interpreters, and many others.
